For nearly 20 years, students and professors from the School of Architecture and the School of City and Regional Planning have worked with the Georgia Conservancy to find sustainable solutions for communities across the state.
Following their induction into the AIA College of Fellows, we caught up with three School of Architecture alums to find out why studying architecture at Tech made such a difference.
The Sino-U.S. Eco Urban Lab, a joint laboratory of Georgia Tech and Tongji University, is organizing the 2015 International Symposium on Eco Urban Design. The Symposium will take place in Shanghai on June 5-6 in 2015. Six Georgia Tech faculty, including professors Alan Balfour, John Crittenden, Catherine Ross, Ellen Dunham-Jones, Subhro Guhathakurta, and Perry Yang, will participate. They hope to initiate dialogue on the future research of ecological urban systems in the context of China’s rapid urbanization and its potential global impact. Faculty of Tongji University and the professional communities of architecture, city planning, and environment in Shanghai will join the conversation.
The 2015 South Atlantic Region (SAR) Architecture for Health Annual Conference will take place on August 13th and 14th at the Academy of Medicine in Atlanta, GA.
