The School of Architecture contributes to the College of Architecture's efforts in the area of continuing education through occasional scheduled courses, symposia, and the ongoing Lecture Series.
Career Discovery in Architecture
This two-week summer program offers high school juniors and seniors, who are considering careers in architecture, the opportunity to explore principles of design and the practice of architecture with faculty members and professional architects. The program of study includes drawing exercises, model-building projects, and field trips that provide the opportunity to see design and construction professionals in action. Career Discovery also offers one-on-one guidance to help participants make decisions about applying to an architecture program. The drawings and documents produced during the Career Discovery classes also can be included in the participants’ college admission portfolios. Admission to the program is handled through Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics & Computing (CEISMC).
School of Architecture Career Fair
Each spring, the School of Architecture organizes a career fair in partnership with the School of City and Regional Planning. Representatives from local and national architecture firms and related disciplines are invited to exhibit displays of their work and to establish contacts with students interested in interviewing for summer and full-time employment. Employers interested in learning more should contact lucie [dot] andre [at] coa [dot] gatech [dot] edu (Lucie Andre).
