Danielle Ayan, GISP
Danielle is a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and has worked with GIS technology for over 13 years -- 11 years as a full-time professional in the Atlanta area and 2 additional years as a MS Geology Graduate student at Texas Christian University (via formal studies and petroleum/environmental internships). She is currently tasked with co-managing the Georgia GIS Data Clearinghouse, a duty shared between the Center for GIS and UGA's ITOS (Information Technology Outreach Services). Her past experiences have included full-time work with the North Central TX Council of Governments and with a local Atlanta engineering firm for whom she provided expertise in the environmental remediation and stormwater arenas; her main clients through the firm included EPA's Federal Facility Branch Region 4, City of Atlanta, and Fulton County. With all endeavors, Danielle has used and promoted GIS as an essential element in the business process/analysis. In 2007-2008, she is leveraging her visible position with the Center for GIS and the Georgia GIS Data Clearinghouse to reach out to the community - individuals, professionals, local government, state agencies and work with NSGIC - via the following roles: GISCC (Georgia's GIS Coordinating Committee) Chair, Georgia URISA Immediate Past President, URISA International Associate Conference Chair and Chapter Relations Committee Chair.
Danielle is the PI on the current USGS-funded, statewide GIS Strategic Planning effort via the Fifty States Initiative. Please contact Danielle for participation in this significant endeavor for the state of Georgia.
