Colleges of Architecture and Engineering The Colleges of Architecture and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invite nominations and applications for the Oliver Professor of Practice in Design. This will be a joint position between these two colleges. Professor of Practice appointments bring to Georgia Tech creative and intellectual leaders from the professions with schedules and teaching commitments appropriate to individual needs. The aim is to let the students experience the substance and the ambitions of advanced practice. The Oliver Professor will have the task of expanding and enhancing the role of design within and between Engineering, Industrial Design, Architecture, and beyond with the overall aim of advancing design interdisciplinarity at Georgia Tech. Teaching activities for this non-tenure track position may involve undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in both Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering. Time and resources to facilitate scholarly activity will be provided. Time commitments will be flexible; however, the successful candidate should expect to be on campus a minimum of 10 weeks a year. Applicants should have an appropriate advanced degree, and hold a leadership position in the design community.
