The QuickTime player (with QTVR Component) works as a Helper Application, allowing your Web browser to display QuickTime VR scenes and object movies. To use the player you need to install the latest version of the Apple QuickTime Player on your computer.
1.Install the QuickTime player. Download the QuickTime Player for your version of Windows:
Use File Manager or Explorer to locate the file you just downloaded and double-click on it to install the QuickTime Player.
2.Install the QuicktimeVR Component for the QuickTime Player.
3.Use File Manager or Explorer to locate the file you just downloaded (qtvrw.exe or qtvrw32.exe) and double-click on it to extract (de-compress) it. Take care to remember where the extracted file is located. The archive will self-extract creating one file: qtvrw.qtc or qtvrw32.qtc.
4. Move the file qtvrw.qtc or qtvrw32.qtc from it's downloaded location to the directory
C:\WINDOWS.
5. In your Web browser Preferences, designate C:\WINDOWS\PLAYER.EXE (for Windows 3.x) or C:\WINDOWS\PLAY32.EXE (for Windows 95 & NT) as the Helper
Application for the File Type video/quicktime.
If you are using NetScape 2.0 follow the directions and pictures below. The procedure for other Web
browsers is similar.

(Windows 95 is pictured)
The window changes to show the Helper Applications settings.
By default the Action is Ask User. In the next steps you'll change the Action to PLAYER (for Windows 3.x) or PLAY32 (for Windows 95 & NT).
A file directory pop-up is displayed.
When you click OK, the file directory closes and NetScape Preferences is displayed. PLAYER or PLAY32 is listed as the Application for the File Type video/quicktime.
That's it. Now, when you click a QuickTime VR link, the helper application PLAYER.EXE or PLAY32.EXE will launch, displaying the VR scene or object in a separate window.
