Coca-Cola Olympic City

Coca-Cola Olympic City(page 2)

The dominant structure at Olympic Park is Coca-Cola's Olympic City. Steve Murray of the Atlanta Journal Constitution describes it as "A soft drink ad disguised as a theme park" in his review entitled "Olympic City: Have a Coke and a smile ...or else". The entrance is a life-size mock up of a portion of an Olympic stadium with cut-out of fans peering down on the person entering. It's like being inside a giant Electric Football game complete with crowd noises. There are a number of interactive games in which the visitor is given the feeling of actually being a participant in an Olympic competition.

Coca-Cola Olympic CityOnce inside the park, one can bat against an image of Roger Clemens or shoot baskets against Grant Hill. One problem pointed out, by one who has already experienced the Coke pavilion, is that only one can participate at a time with any one event which makes for long lines or potentially disappointed kids. Sounds like the attraction includes a lot of navigating through endless quantities of Coke products and licensed memorabilia, including Coke machines that dispense "Coca-Cola T-shirts in a can for $20. Entry fee to the hard-sell commercial world of Coca-Cola, $13 for adults and $8 for children.
