Georgia State University
Located in beautiful downtown Atlanta, Georgia State University is one of Georgia's
largest institutions of higher learning. Boasting an enrollment of 24,000 students,
the campus is far from empty. Founded in 1913 as the Georgia Tech Evening school of
Commerce, GSU has since grown and developed its own identity. Bringing fame to the
school, the gymnasium will be the venue for the Olympic badmitton competition (7/24-8/1).
Up to a total of 3,300 spectators can be seated in the gymnasium.
Usually the home of the Physical Education at GSU, the gymnasiun will be the home
to the second Badminton competition in Olympic history.
