Georgia World Congress Center

Photo of the  of the Georgia World Congress Center The Georgia World Congress Center (GWC) will host seven sports during the 1996 Olympic Games. With over 2.5 million square feet of space, the center is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The GWC is made up of three different sections; each section contains approximately 336,800 square feet of exhibition space.

The sports that the GWC will host and the dates for each:

  • Judo 7/20-7/26
  • Fencing 7/20-7/25
  • Handball 7/24-8/4
  • Modern Pentathlon 7/30
  • Weightlifting  7/2-7/24 & 7/26-7/30
  • Table Tennis 7/23-8/1
  • Wrestling 7/30-8/2
Seating capacity for these events range from 5,000 to 7,500.
